MANILA, Philippines - Typhoon Lawin (Jelawat) is finally out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

Based on the 5 a.m. weather bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Lawin has accelerated and was located 610 kilometer northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

Lawin is moving northeast at 20 kilometers per hour. It was packing maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph.

PAGASA has lifted all public storm warning signals as Lawin moved away from the country.
The typhoon is forecast to be 70 km northeast of Okinawa, Japan by Saturday afternoon.

“Sa ngayon, pinapayuhan natin ang mga mangingisda natin na di pa ligtas ang mangisda dito sa seaboard ng northern Luzon o dito sa baybaying dagat ng Ilocos hanggang doon sa Cagayan hanggang dito sa bandang Aurora, Quezon,” said PAGASA weather forecaster Meno Mendoza.

PAGASA said no other weather disturbance was seen near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

“Wala pa tayong ibang weather disturbance na binabantayan,” added Mendoza.

However, Mendoza said that Metro Manila, CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Central Luzon, MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Surigao del Sur and Davao Region will have cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms.
